Up to 54 EPA Estimated MPG Combined Fuel Economy Rating on First-Ever Elantra Hybrid

The New 2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid has captured the attention of the editors at Motor1.com, receiving the honor of "Best Value" in their first-ever 2021 Star Awards. The Hybrid Elantra's dramatic exterior styling sets it apart from other vehicles in its class and the high-tech interior drew raves from initial drivers. But the crowning acheivement of Hyundai engineers is Elantra's impressive combined EPA fuel rating of up to 54 MPG. Combined with a surprisingly affordable MSRP, Elantra Hybrid is an outstanding automotive value.

"We thank the editors at Motor1.com for this award. Based on research, we know that fuel economy remains a top purchase consideration," said Ricky Lao, director of Product Planning, Hyundai Motor North America. "The Elantra Hybrid delivers up to 54 mpg combined to meet their demands while delivering a striking design and advanced technologies."

Motor1.com's first-ever Star Awards evaluated all new vehicles that had been tested by their team of automotive expert editors. Eight distinct categories of awards were considered: Best Adventure Vehicle, Best Electric Vehicle, Best Family Vehicle, Best Luxury Vehicle, Best Performance Vehicle, Best Truck, Best Value, and Editors' Choice. The wide field of vehicles was narrowed down to 17 different vehicles from 12 different automakers. Motor1.com gatrhered their editors and vehicles in Santa Clarita, CA for a week of intensive in-car driving tests in diverse road conditions ranging from rolling back-country roads, rugged mountain trails and the blacktop of Willow Springs International Motorsports Park. After extensive testing, the editors gathered to discuss the pros and cons of each vehicle within the criteria of their category before assigning a star-rating to determine the winners.

"It was difficult to select just one winner from this group of competitors, but the 2021 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid ended up offering the best blend of creature comforts, driving competence, economical motoring, and aggressive pricing to get the nod," said Motor1.com Senior Editor Brett Evans. "For the owner who wants something comfortable, distinctive, and well-priced, it's hard to improve on the Elantra Hybrid."
