Introducing the All New 2020 Hyundai Palisade

New to Hyundai's line up and soon to replace the Hyundai Santa Fe Xl is the all new Hyundai Palisade. This vehicle is designed to be the biggest "people-hauler" in the line-up, featuring 3 rows with 7 or 8 passenger seating. This vehicle was first introduced at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show set to take over for the Santa Fe XL beginning with the 2020 model year.

The Hyundai Palisade with come with a single 3.8 liter V-6 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Palisade's engine will be boosting 291 horsepower and 262 lbs-ft torque, with both Front Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive options available. Overseas, a diesel option is available however, it is unclear whether this engine option will make itself available stateside any time soon. The Palisade's suspension is equipped with the standard Hyundai MacPherson struts paired with coil springs and a rear multi link setup with stabilizer bar.

Standard safety features will include forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, smart cruise control, high-beam assist, blind-spot warning, back up camera with rear cross-traffic alert and Safe Exit Assist, which prevents rear passengers from opening a door into oncoming traffic. Optional safety features include 360-degree camera and front parking sensors.

On the inside, the Palisade exudes feelings of luxury and comfort. The dashboard is low and wide, featuring a central 10.5 inch infotainment screen. It can be outfitted with quality Napa leather seats complete with quilted accents, dual sunroofs, and a gorgeous matte wood trim. Standard equipment includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with simultaneous Bluetooth pairing. For the rear, there is an ultrasonic rear occupant alert system, designed to ensure children or pets are not accidentally left in the rear seat. When there is someone left in the rear seat, the system beeps the vehicle's horn and flashes the light if motion is detected in the vehicle after the driver leaves. This system can also ping an alert to a paired cell phone.

The seating arrangement for the Palisade is available for 7 or 8 passengers. The 3rd row is a standard bench style last row with the second row coming with the options of either two captain's chairs or a split sliding 60/40 bench. If the captain chairs are elected, they feature walk-through access to the third row as well as availability for both heating and cooling. Throughout the Palisade, there are up to 7 USB ports and 16 cup holders.
